Literature Text

We walk these thin lines throughout our life,
Hoping to keep them straight, oh so straight,
Who knows what could happen if they tangled together?
But, isn't this just the wrong way to go about it all?
If we are too scared to find out what happens,
What else won't we ever do?
Take some chances, get dirty once in awhile,
Get into trouble, do something wrong for awhile,
Tangle those lines, make them so messed up,
That no sense could be made of them,
Except by you, because you know how you tied them,
You know what you did and why you did it,
And its something that is good for you and only you,
So is it worth it then?
Why, yes, yes indeed you young vagabond,
It's the release from the world that makes you keep them straight,
It's the chance to rebel in the face of a world of rules,
It's the moment of a lifetime that you will soon repeat,
It's the something that makes us human,
And if you cannot discover that,
Then my poor friend, you deny yourself the greatest pleasure,
So, run, don't walk, skank, don't stand,
Over and over again, over and over those lines,
Until you are the only one to untangle them,
Because that's the way it should be,
Life should not make sense, you should unwind every so often,
But don't unwind those tangled wires, just unwind your mind from the world that keeps it straight,
oh so straight.
Here is a little something I whipped up, it's something that has been on my mind for awhile, but I have not been able to put it into words until now. Actually, I'm quite suprised how it came out, I didn't expect it to sound the way it does. But yeah, I had no other idea on where to put it, so it finds itself in Human Nature, and definently free verse. (there is like no rhythm to this at all, so be forewarned) Enjoy!
